Jeff Sherman, PhD

Up one level
Professor, Psychology
Email: jsherman@ucdavis.edu

Dr. Sherman's research investigates the cognitive processes underlying social psychology and behavior. In particular, he is interested in how people perceive themselves, other people, and groups of people. Much of his research focuses on the interactions of automatic and controlled processes in encoding, judgment, and memory. For example, in the domains of stereotyping and prejudice, he is trying to understand the bases of implicit biases and the ways in which people may regulate these biases when judging others or remembering information about them. He is the Editor of Social Cognition.
